Sami J. Oweida, MD

Dr. Oweida received his Medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh school of Medicine, Pittsburgh, PA in 1979. He attended George Washington University for General Surgery, Union Memorial Hospital and Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD for Orthopedic surgery. Dr. Oweida completed a Post-Graduate fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery at Union Memorial Hospital in 1984. He has practice in the Charlotte area for the past 20 years.

Dr. Oweida is Board Certified in Orthopedic surgery and is an active member of the following professional organizations:
   -American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons
   -Mecklenburg County Medical Society
   -North Carolina Medical Society

Dr. Oweida has a special interest in arthroscopic surgery, sports related injuries and computer assisted joint replacement of the knee and hip.

Eugene P. Christian, MD

Dr. Christian received his Medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA where he graduated with honors in 1981. He is a member of the AOA National Medical Honor Society. Dr. Christian completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the United States Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, VA. He completed his Naval service as Chief of the Orthopedic Surgery Department in Jacksonville, FL. His service time resulted in numerous commendations and awards including 2 Navy commendation medals.

Dr. Christian is Board certified in orthopedic surgery, and is an active member of  several professional societies and organizations including:
 -Arthroscopy Association of North America
  -American College of Sports Medicine
  -American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons
  -North Carolina Medical Society

Dr. Christian has a special interest in sports medicine and has served as team physician for numerous high schools, colleges and professional sports teams throughout the nation.

Deidra L. Whalen, OPA-C

Deidra Whalen completed her training from the U.S. Naval Corpsman School in 1984, then completed her Orthopedic Technology training at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Newport, RI. She is currently a member of the American Society of Orthopedic Physician Assistants.
